Comic Art and the creation there of.

Friday, June 6th, 2008

I know some of you may have already seen this fun little gif showing the stages of creation on a typical comic, but here it is for those who may have missed it.

All my comics of late have been “pencilled” and “inked” in Sketchbook Pro. Then they are brought into Photoshop to be cleaned up and colored and lettered. Depending on the complexity of what I am drawing it can take a week to do a comic others are done in a few hours. Most of the time I know what is going to happen in any given comic (actually as of this posting I know what will happen over about the next 8 comics) on occasion I will just sit down and start drawing and see what comes out. Those comics tend to be a bit more fun to draw simply because I have know idea what I am even going to say in them. Well, that is a quick look into the twisted and dark regions of this cartoonist’s mind.
